Vintage, hand-embroidered, Tajik bridal embroidery. The colors are a mix of jeweled tones, including golden thread and puce velveteen. Birds are a symbol of luck and prosperity and are often used on bridal items. This would be part of a dowry and then used to decorate the bed or home. This is lined with fabric - shown in the last photo. The tassels are made of silk. This is 36" wide by 26" long, not including the fabric backing. Most likely from the 1980's.
